Feeding Issues

Info for the Therapists...

*Breast feed x 4 weeks (stopped in ICU)

*Nestle Good Start - only 2 ozs Q 2' for many months- would wake Q other hour through night until ?10 mos old

*Bottles always had to be room temp or colder

*Never ate baby food - hated it, we made soups and stews

* Gags a lot when eatting, will also shove his hand down his throat

*Has always taken many meds PO

*Switched to whole milk without issues

*Weight remains 5th percentile, height 28th

*Likes salty foods... chips and french fries

*Curretnly taking only bottles - 16oz Pediasure mixed with 16-24ozs whole milk

*Has diarrhea a lot b/c of abx - occas on soy form/milk

*Acidophilous BID or should we switch

*Do kidney kids have food aversions/eatting issues?

*Is there another GERD med that won't gag him like Prevacid?

*Drinks a lot of water each day - 8ozs?


*update... speech therapist thinks that he has bad reflux. he's been on Prevacid x 10d and at last night and today at her office. She will follow us weekly x 2 to be sure. He chews, swallows & sucks just fine.  YAY!!!
