Jackson's 1st Bday

Whew!!!!!

Happy birthday little man!!!!!!!!!
Happy. Happy. Happy. Birth. Day.

We made it!!!!!
You made it!!!
And you've done a wonderful job!!!

You are so precious -
 sooo snuggly!
 sooo lovey!
 sooo patient!
 sooo fun!
 sooo cuddly!
 sooo funny!
 sooo proud!
 sooo...  PERFECT!

We planned a big bash for you but decided that it was best to keep it small since your bday is right in the mdst of flu season.
You're our little monkey when you ooh-ooh-aah-aah and spin in plopping-circles on the ground so we made some birthday treats:

We picked up some balloons for dinner at Maggianos (you LOVE meatballs) with the Liounises:
(Daddy has pics and videos on his phone that I'll get soon)

Jaylee made you a picture for your room - a celebration of your first year:

Jenni bought you a cool wind-up caterpillar and made you some home-made crafts.

All of the Stringhams sent you some videos that made Mama cry and cry and...
Here you are opening some gifts!

By the time we ate got to cupcakes, you were pretty wiped and just stared at the candle!!!

You went to sleep great and then woke 1 hour later covered in vomit!!! (?why)
You like to keep things interesting!!!

The next day you wore some of your new outifts and we went to your first pet shop and for your first Photos.  You had a great day.

You'll never have any idea how much we love and how much we've been blessed with you in our lives!!

My "New' Life

So, according to Pinterest, if I am unhappy with any part of my life, it is my fault and I should be the one making changes to make it better.
Dang It!!!!!!!

So, in my ideal life, these are things that I would like to be happening.
Maybe by writing out a list, it will be easier to work on -
Oh how I love checking things off!!!

The Improved Jenn Stringham

Lose 30 lbs by watching what I eat and working out 5 days a week.

Clean, dry and put-away laundry twice a week so that it does not pile up in the hallway making the house look like a mess. (the put-away step is by far the hardest)

Encourage the girls to put clothes away asap so that their rooms stay manageable.

Enforce chores, with pay at the end of the week. They can't continue to be slobs.

Work on week-long menus to have a fresh cooked meal 5 nights a week.

Begin packing lunches for Jason and girls.

Insist on and organize bi-monthly dates.  We must teach the kids that it is important. And I need to be spoiled:)

Scrub the floors.... oh how I loathe the kitchen floor.  But by scrubbing it twice a week, it won't be so hard.

Pay off oil credit card, The thought of having credit card balances again literally sickens me to my stomach.  Blah...

Save money for a vacation to Seattle.  There is absolutely no way that we will go another year without getting out there! Sounds easy, but being in the hospital a lot will put a lot of strain on any savings you may have once had.

It's unrealistic to say that I will keep my car clean, so let's just say that I will strive to keep a trash bag in there to help keep it cleaner.

I am so sick of drama in the lives of people around me.  I will explain to these people that I would love to talk to them, but not about the drama and the others that are involved.  Maybe this will cut down on the never-ending drama.  I hate that word... d-r-a-m-a.

I would like to help out one family a month that may need any sort of help... we'll pick the family together and do something nice for them... a meal, a surprise package, a play date, etc.

I need to take better care of myself, which I hope will be a benefit and losing weight and feeling more healthy and awake.  I need to shave my legs more than once a month, keep up with my eyebrows and when I do need them, I will deserve a few new outfits.

Re-organize the attic with piles that more easy to handle... Freecycle, Sell, Keep.

Finally get my rings cut off, resized and re-stoned.

******

It is a lot, but at the same time it is not a lot.  There needs to be less TV watching and more productivity around the house and I think I can reach these goals.  I know it will take time, and hard work, and quite honestly I don't know if I am yet ready to do all the hard work (weight loss stuff in particular) but I do know that I do feel much better on the days that I have worked out.
So come on off your lazy butt, Jenn, and you'll get to wear those adorable summer outfits that you saw at Target last week!!!!!

Wish me luck!!

Catch up

It's a catch up kind of day...
straight and to the point!!

*We had to cancel Jackson's big birthday bash. :(
* Jackson's follow up visit shows he's still down 1 lb and 4 ozs but he is doing well - He is now technically a walker (7 or so stop -and-go steps are his norm),  he is a moo-er and a roar-er and a ooh-ooh-aah-aah-er, he loves to roll around the room, he attempts real forward-rolls already, he adores the steer and always points out the window mooing, he sleeps pretty good (waking at 1 and 4 for a bottle that he feeds himself), he may have lactose issues so we switched back to soy for a while, he has four top and four bottem teeth in and has two top molars coming, he loves to eat goldfish, and he continues to adore his big sisters (and SpongeBob, of course)
*Jennibelle has another loose tooth but she still has one big and one baby front tooth! (I think it may have to do with when she fell at school this fall and ripped her frenulum.)  She had her first "date" on Friday night... very interesting... she begged to have Eddie over for a playdate and he brought her a love letter.  They then had the best play date we've ever had - not one single argument, just a lot of playing!  Jason kept saying what  a nice kid he was - until we were eatting dinner he told us (out of no where) that if he could vote, he would vote for Obama... it was nice knowing Eddie!!  Jenni also started reading chapter books!!!
*Jaylee is Pre-pubescent.  This is fun. I am trying,t hough sometimes I am not convinved that I am trying my best!!  I find that I just get aggrevated and snippy with her - I have to remember that she doesn't understand what is going on with her either.  Darn hormones! She has some close freinds at school now but I feel like they are already becoing "clicky".  She's doing well in school, she doesn't have to give it much effort!!  She's very into her American girl doll right now.
*We had a girls day on Saturday - Dress shopping in the morning for super fancy dresses and shoes, and then we took Morgan and Mandy to Tea with Beauty and the Beast at the Warwick High School.  There was close to 500 people there, all the girls were dressed up and the entire cast was our servers for tea and pastries.  Then we went downtown for lunch and a trip to Candyology.
*This afternoon we spent at the local Rec Center with a free swim and bouncy house day.  Mandy and her kids joined me and the kids.  It was a great time and was not too crowded.  Jackson loved the pool, just as we expected!
*We picked up our family portraits at church this morning (where Jaylee and the choir were singing) - I LOVE them!!!!  I am sooo happy with them and will hang them by the stairs.
*Can't blog without pictures!!!

2nd Admit This Week!

Jackson spiked a fever again and his WBCs were found to be 22.2k - higher than they've ever been!
So, we were directly admitted for the second time this week.
Bummer!!!
It's pretty scary when they don't have any idea what is wrong.
Fevers are 103+ flu/RSV is neg and he doesn't have any real symptoms.

The girls are heartbroken... tonight was supposed to be a Girls' party before work.
They've been beaten and thrown on the back burner for 18 months now.
I wish I was super Mom and could fix all of this.
I'll probably have a complete mental breakdown soon!!!

Jenni left the sweetest note.  I am paraphrasing from memory until I get back to the hospital in the AM and can directly quote her...
"Dear Jackson, Even know I did not see the ferst star my wish is for you to never be sick agen!
 Love, JB
PS did I tell you that I love you?"

Summary from his admission 7/29/11:
"The patient was born at 37 weeks and 2 days to a G5 P3 mother by low-transverse c-section. Prenatal course was complicated by suspected pseudo-prune belly syndrome. At 19 weeks the bladder was very massively enlarged, and there was oligohydramnios, and, therefore, bladder decompression in utero had to be performed. The patient was born with apgar scores of 8 and 9 and with birthweight of 3.917 kg and was large for gestational age. He underwent unsuccessful urethral catheterization while in Geisinger NICU and, therefore, urethral stricture was eventually diagnosed. He had to undergo a vesicostomy at Geisinger on day of life #3. He was discharged then to home but was admitted at 2 weeks of life to hershey med and had a diagnosis of urosepsis with Enterobactor cloacae sensitive only to Gent growing out of his urine. He also had septic shock and required dobutamine drip, and his blood culture grew out Enterococcus faecalis that was sensitive to Ampicillin. He required intubation temporarily for a central line at that point and was severely hyponatremic and hyperkalemic, which had to be corrected. He had been seen by Ped Infectious Disease and nephrology while at hershey Med and was subsequently transferred to Geisinger for further care. The pt has continued to be followed as an outpatient by Geisinger ped Uro and Nephro. His formal diagnosis are bilateral hydronephrosis, hydroureters urethral stricture/bladder outlet obstruction, bladder wall thinkening, hypospadias, chronic kidney disease stage 2, and the appendicovesicostomy. The urinary system abnormalities do give him a diagnosis of pseudo-prune belly sysndrome."
