Dombach's Cabin Labor Day 2010

Labor Day 2010
Ed & Peggy dombach's Cabin
Tioga County, Pennsylvania

Jenni was NOT happy about us going to the mts for the weekend, but I think she may have loved it more than any of us... here's a pic right after we arrived.  As we pulled in the "driveway", we drove RIGHT by a bear (5 feet from us)... it excited her so much that she instatnly LOVED the mts...
She's showing Jason her love...
Jaylee was excited to get tospend time with Oscar as well.
(He's been living with Ed & Peggy since Cole was born)
Everyone woke at 7:15am the next day, even though no one went to sleep beofre 1am.
HOW DO THEY DO IT?!?!
Here we are blaying crocket at 9 am.

Ed kept a fire going all day and night.
Jason LOVES being out in the wilderness!

Taking one of our hikes...
surprisingly, I felt very safe with Jason and Mandy there to protect me from any snakes, bears, etc...

Jaylee was SUPER excited to get on a four-wheeler.

Jennibelle passed on her first few oppertunities but finally agreed and then never wanted to get off!

Jason FINALLY got to fire our gun.
I was soooo excited to fire it but chickened out!!

We saw lots of animals over the weekend at the tree feeding areas they have set up.
Here's some wild turkey.
They travelled in a group of appx 20.

We saw deer many times too...
the baby was very precious.
They weren't too bothered by us like I thought they would be.

And then the bears.
BIG, BLACK, WILD BEARS!!!
We saw 3 different bears many times over the weekend.
These bears are pretty "tame" for wild animals b/c they have been coming and getting fed everyday all of their life.  They were only about 15 feet from us, which took me a little geting used to, I never really came to like the idea or feel very comfortable... esp when Jenni asked if she could pet them!!!!
Jason and Ed got to be about 5 feet from one but then it started stomping it's front paws at them.
One night, Ed was by the fire and Peggy was shining the spot light on the bear from abuot 10 feet away... the bear walked past Ed and the fire with the spot light on his face and mosied on along like it was nothing!!!!
Definately an experience!!

Here's Jason helping the girls widdle some wood for our roasted marshmellows.

Brian cooked us the BEST steaks and baked potatoes over the wild fire.
Makes me hungry just thinking about them!!!

These binoculars were neat to see the blue jays, turkeys & bears.

Jason and Brian went fishing at "Rattlesnake Rocks" on Sat morning and on Sunday morning we took all of the kids to fish in a calmer area.
Jaylee caught two, Jenni caught one, & Morgan got so close to catching one!!

Jenni and her fish.
She even petted it!

Here is Jason fishing wiht a Minnie Mouse pole, helping out the girls...
LOVE this man!!!

Jaylee and her 2nd fish.

Jennibelle and her second outfit after she fell in the freezing water.
She loved finding neat smooth rocks.
She tried to skip them, but Meg seemed to be our girl champion rock-skipper!

No day is complete without tickle time.

Sunday afternoon we stopped at a flea market where the kids all got a marhsmellow shooter...
Jaylee was target practicing...

Meg and Jason hanging out by the fire.

Jaylee got to actually drive, gas and steer the four wheeler!!!

Here's my snuggly duo...

Meg after she fired the hand gun!!

Jaylee's first REAL shot...

And Jennibelle's...

Mandy's first time with the hand gun...
She did NOT like it, which made my decision NOT to fire it!!

Brian.
I DID shoot a 22g though.

Jenni would bering me back "special treats" from each four wheeler ride!!
They were always for me AND Jason and we had to kiss each time to get them!

This picture is out of order... it is Jenni playing with the rocks while we fished...
Just thought it was a really pretty picture!!!!

I had a lot of fun in the mts...
bot sure how soon I'll go back though!!!

They were both busy giving me "fake" smiles...
I was trying hard to make them laugh for real.

Jennibelle was soooo excited...
she does not "hide" her emotions like her big sister tends to do.
Here she is posing with her Backpack Buddy that she made in PreK.
(He's the pink thing on the bottome of her back pack)
Mrs Esh, kindergarten

Nan and Poppop bought the girsl new
LPS lunch boxes at the beach this summer.

Jaylee has Mrs Constein, 2nd grade.

Jason stayed home to "console" me after the bus pulled away.
The girls LOVE when he is around.

Me and my little ladies.

Jenni waited at the bus stop atleast 10 minsutes early.
Jaylee was busy hiding from me so I couldn't take her picture anymore.

This picture of Jennibelle makes me cry everytime...
you can see how excited she is!!!!

Here's my Jason "consoling" me...
