Cove Haven

We celebrated Jason’s birthday with a night at Cove Haven - Adult Only Resort - in the Pocono Mts. Jenni watched the boys since Jaylee was out of the country. We had a nice day together. 

I got off work at 0700 and we were on our way by 1000. We didn’t arrive until 4:30 because we made a lot of stops along the way. We stayed one night. I was so excited because they had a DJ... and they had a night club. However, the DJ played music at the pool outside of our door while a not-so-funny comedian was in the nightclub. Not. A. Single. Person. Danced. 

I was bummed!! 

The heart shaped pool was right outside our door- a perfect spot!! 

Rocky’s Bday

Rocky turned one- already!!!

She certainly is not a kitten anymore. She sleeps a lot, and doesn’t like to play anymore. The boys are completely oblivious to this. She is adored by the 4 kids. She loves to sit on Jadon while he’s busy working. She wants nothing to do with me.

Her birthday is July 3.

We celebrated with Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars. We gave her vanilla ice cream, but she only ate the whipped cream.

Bonfield Bee Awards 2019

Each teacher at our elementary school picks one of their students to receive the Bonfield Bee Award- the recipient has shown that they are constantly Ready, Responsible and Respectful (the school motto). It’s a huge honor.

My heart can not find the right words to send to my mouth...

I knew it was coming because each teacher had given me a heads up. The boys did not know though. When they called Jinny’s name, Jack jumped off of his seat in celebration!!!  Jack wanted the award so badly and was so nervous that he might not get it. It’s also an award that you can only get once, how amazing is it that they got to experience it together! 

I’m REALLY proud... proud of them, their teachers and Jason and I!!  (Is that something I shouldn’t say out loud?!?)

Boys at Summer Camp

Both boys were CAMPERS at overnight summer camp this year at Kenbrook Bible Camp. For 4days/3nights. I was the nurse again. I really prefer the 6-11 year olds, over the teenagers I did last year. The boys only had 4 campers in their Cabin and 3 leaders! There were around 45 campers, and only 10 were boys. 

I had planned on not interacting much with the boys -to give them their space, but every time I was in either of their vicinity, I heard “Hi Mommy!!!  Mommy! Mommy!!! Hi!  Hi Mommy!!!”  

Bless my heart, if I’m being honest. 

I diapered Jack each night, but I think he could have done without me. He ate more camp food, than the edible food I prepare every day! He was also burning tons of calories. Only 1/2 of his calories came from Pediasure. 

Jimmy was by far the youngest camper- 6 years and 2 weeks. Though I had sent pull-ups (just in case) he was too embarrassed to ended up being the bed 2 out of the 3 nights. So it was good that I was there, because I could “slyly” go wash his sheets”.  Unfortunately, the last night he was exhausted and, thus, scared, so jack let him sleep -and pee- in his bed. 

When campers receive packages, they must sing for everyone before they can receive their package. So, they’re loving Mom wrapped up skittles and put it in the camp mailbox... bwa ha ha ha ha. It didn’t even phase them though... they belted our Baby Shark! 

I’m glad they got to do this together. Jack seemed to love it, and made a friend Ben. Jimmy loved it at times, and wanted me at times, but over all, I think he’s happy he did it!!

They each picked two morning activities (“How-Tos”) the did Sports of all Sorts Together and then Jimmy went swimming while Jack did Arts and Crafts. Sports if all Sorts was 1 day soccer and 2 days Gaga Ball, by the kids vote. Next year they’ll have to choose differently, because Gaga Ball is what they spend they’re free time doing, when they’re not swimming. They could have done football, kayaking, STEM, or others. 

Jaylee’s in Costa Rica

Jaylee is on her first international mission’s trip to La Carpio, Costa Rica. It’s an 8 day trip. June 29 to July 6, 2019. Flying straight from BWI to San Jose. That girl LOVES to fly!!! She was ecstatic to go. She went with 7 other High School kids from LEFC and 3 leaders. They are running a Sports World VBS for 3 days and then they are being tourists- touring San Jose and visiting Hot Springs for a day each.

La Carpio is very poor. Mostly dirt roads. Not all homes have running waters. Poor sanitation. Certainly no WiFi, therefore no communication with her. She’s sleeping on a camping blow up mattress on a tile floor at a mission’s center in the slums. The last 2 nights, they’ll get a hotel room. 

Marisol Hinton is one of the Missionaries working with them. She has Facebook and was able to upload some pictures of the VBS on Monday night (Trip Day 3). I have never seen Jaylee look so happy, as she did in this photos. It put my worry-Mama-mind to ease.
