OCNJ 2019

What a great year at the beach!!!!

Jason got to stay with us all week, though he had to work a few hours each morning.

We had a new (to us) rental this year and the location was great... on a side street with no traffic and I liked the actual beach better too! The house itself  was so big too, so much room to spread out. Even when Meg’s family came down for the day, we had plenty of room. The only downfall was that it was on the 2nd floor, so I was always worried about the downstairs people would hear the boys running rampant.

Stringhams Take the East Coast 2019

Maria’s clan came with her parents, and the Audrey brought Aubrey. What a fun 2 weeks!!!!

They flew overnight on Friday July 12, so Sat was a low key napping kind of day. I made chili cheese fries as a welcome dinner. For some reason, those Stringhams love my chili! The house was FULL OF LAUGHTER!  I love it. My friend Michelle was so sweet to give Mom and Dad her in-law quarters, so they had some peace and quiet at night.

Sunday we all went to our church then had a delicious cookout with burgers, dogs, Mac n cheese, Lancaster Co sweet corn and fruit. The kids spent the day swimming (thanks Selina!), we had a family volleyball game, a boxing match and a Risk game.

Monday to Weds evening they were tourists in northern New York.

Thursday we all headed to OCNJ!! We got an old little inn 3 blocks off of the boardwalk so we had freedom to do what we wanted. It did not start out the best... we left Lititz at 10am, Maria left $100 cash behind at Walmart, once we touched the sand at 4pm the clouds rolled in - and then promptly rolled out, BUT we ended up having a great time!! We got to do the beach for 7 hours on Friday, Mac and Manco’s twice, rides and the teens did loys if boardwalk shopping, scratch that, browsing. Jaylee, Tommy and Grandma all rocked their fanny packs.

The only BAD part of the trip was when my girls got caught in a rip tide and three lifeguards had to go out and bring them to safety. They were so embarrassed, but none of us actually saw it happen... we were too busy keeping an eye on the boys.

My boys had such a blast playing in the sand with Brody. He is their Best Friend in the world. It’s so cute! They ran right out into that ocean liked they owned it... I was a proud Mama!

We returned home late a Friday night and then Jason and Jaylee left the house at 3AM Saturday to pick up Audrey and Aubrey at the Philly Airport.

Saturday there was a whole lot more napping/hanging out and then Coldcuts... for lunch and dinner because it was 98’

Maria’s clan flew out Sunday afternoon. Our air conditioner broke -literally- 10 minutes
