Etown Fair 2010

The Etown Fair

IF the pig race was at this fair, it would be our most favorite fair to go to!!!!
I took the girls Thursday afternoon at 3pm and it was empty... they each got a $10 wrist band and got to ride as many rides as they wanted until 6pm... Totally worth the money!!!
Usually I don't let them on rides at fairs b/c I don't really trust teh guys putting them up and taking them down, but I went with it, relaxed and watched them enjoy their youth!!

They had a BLAST!!!!
They both did some ride that surprised me, but I feel like I blog about their cgrowing courage all the time, so I won't this time.

Here's Jenni on the 50 foot slide... Jaylee is right behind her.
Notice that she is riding alone AND her hands are up.
This slide actually hurt Jaylee's booty b/c you'd catch air on the humps.

We have a blast when it's just us, but he girls always look forward to shwoing Daddy all of their new accomplishments.
Jason got there at 5:30 and we had a busy 1/2 hour showing him all of the new rides teh girls had conquered...

Like this one...
***GRAVITRON***
This was my most favorite ride growing up and I knew Jaylee would love it.
She was very nervous going in on her own, not really knowing what to expect...

But by her 5th ride, she was a Pro!!
She had even figured out how to ride it upside down!!!

Jennibelle loved the loud music coming from the ride.
She practiced her dance moves to keep herself entertained...
and me, of course:)

Jaylee even did the ferris wheel.
Isn't funny that I LOVE rollercoasters but am terrified of a Ferris Wheel?!?

Drum Roll...

The ride we remember from year to year...
"the bouncy trampoline strappedi n to do flips thingy"
Jenni went first this year...
$5 for 5 mins and the kids love every minute of it!!!

I love capturing pure joy in their faces!!!!

With Jaylee, it was harder to catch the joy...

She looked more like Cousin It,
though I assure you she was laughing and having a great time!!!!

Jaylee's favorite part of the Fair is always haning out with the animals...
This fair has the best petting zoo, by far.

They love holding the bunnies and watching baby chicks hatch.
She could spend teh whole day here!!
She asked if she could volunteer at the Bunny Booth next year!!

This year we found a cool contest...
A HAY BALE THROWING contest.
The girls did AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Jenni was in the Age4-5 bracket with girls and boys.
Had it been only girls, she would have won the trophy!!!
She took 4th or 5th place, losing only to some big 5 year old boys.
We were so excited for her, though she was a little bummed that she didn't get the trophy.
BUT she did get a huge bag of candy as a prize, which helped!!

We were all nervous when they were announcing the winner b/c we knew her throw was super close...

Here's a pic of Jaylee waiting...
she told me she had butterflies in her stomach b/c she was so nervous.
I could see it in her face too when she threw it!
BUT...
she threw it so far!!!

The men behind us were discussing and the one didn't believe it when the other one said that it was a girl who threw it!!  (I guess he missed her actual throw)
I didn't want to turn around b/c I had the proudest face ever!!

FUN FUN FUN!!!
I do NOT want them to head to school next week.
I never understand when I hear Mom's counting down to school's return.
I LVOE them sooo mucha nd love hanging out with them.
I will be very lonely next week...
I'll prob be at your house Mandy!!!

Cole

Hershey Park 2010

We had the best day at Hershey Park with Poppop for our annual Exelon Outting.
Beautiful low-80's weather, not too sunny, no wait longer than 10 mins, and not-crowded pools.
It could not have been a better day!!!
Thanks Poppop!!!!

Jaylee and Poppop did some big-kid rides in the morning and Jenni and I got to do some "Jenni rides".
Here I am squished into the back of a rocket.
We always have fun together, pretending we are really blasting off.
Sometimes I think the other parents think that I am not-all-there!!!

We didn't get to Hershey Park until lunch time b/c we stopped to see Mandy and Cole in the hospital.
So, we were all hungry!!
Apparently, neither of my girls know how to eat without making a mess:
Jaylee with ice cream on her nose
Jennibelle with funnel cake sugar all over her face

After lunch, we headed to the water park.
This was new for us, and totally worth it!!!
The WAVE POOL was not very crowded and the girls loved floating over the waves.
It gave Poppop and I quite a workout!!!

Jaylee and Poppop even got to do a huge water slide...
NO FEAR!!!

Then Jason met up with us.
Have you ever seen anyone wear a suit and tie to Hershey Park for the afternoon?!?
Me neither, until I spotted my hubby a few yards away...
don't ask!!

He insisted on tossing these balls to win a snake "for the girls"...
yeah right Jason;)
Then Jaylee got excited on the idea so she spent some of her own hard earned cash to try...
no luck either!

Jason and Jaylee then buddied-off to do BIG rollercoasters.
The scariest and newest defeat for her this year was the sidewinder...
This one even scares me, esp when it goes backwards.
The picture is very blurry, but you get the idea...

This is NOT our video, but you get the idea and can see why I think she is
SUPER BRAVE!!!!!

Jenni did enjoy her normal rides... the mini-scrambler, the train, the monorail, the kids' swings, the busy bees, the rocket ships, and trucks.  She even re-tried the Frog Hopper, but we quickly had to have them stop the ride.

I have no pix of Jaylee since they were off and about, but she got to do the Twin Racers, Wildcat, Sidewinder, Scrambler and Loopty-Loop.

It was a great day for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
