Jack's Yearly

Our 2 day "vacation" to Geisinger went awesome!!

Jack's ultrasound showed dramatic improvement of the hydronephrosis and his ureters are almost undetectable!  His bladder wall is still thick, bu Dr Sumfest is not concerned that it will hinder his potty training.  WOW!!!!  Dr Muchant was also very pleased... she says that a BUN in the 20s does not concern her at all (She'd start to worry in the 60s).  We see them both in 1 year.

Dr Kuhn (GI Dr) agrees with our Dr Cook (Pediatrician) that Jack's high liver enzymes are probably related to a virus - probably the flu from Halloween when he was really stinking sick.  He was not overly worried b/c only 3 out of the 6 liver tests were high.  He agreed with Dr Cook that repeat blood work in 2-3 weeks was all that is needed at this point.  Whew...

Jackson loved being on "vacation" - he really enjoyed watching the water fountain frogs at the hospital that spit water.  He really loved the pool at the hotel too. He had fun at "Mickey-O-Donald's" too - LOVES their fries. He keeps asking to go back!!

Jimmy enjoyed himself... Urologist says his surgery this spring should be simple with no long term effects!

I taught Jack that it's not vacation until you jump from bed to bed!

Now that we're back, Jack keeps talking about our vacation "last-er-day" and asking when we can go back. Cutie!!!

TWO Front Teeth

Jennibelle's retainer only worked half as well and we hoped... it DID move her missing tooth into position, but the tooth refused to come it.  So, she now has braces and will have surgery next week to pull that darn tooth down.  Her Ortho says that by Christmas 2014, she will have 

TWO front teeth!!!

And a mere 8 months later, we are braces-free....  And Gorgeous!!!

Liver...

Not sure what to say... LGH ran the wrong labs and we found that 3 out of 5 Liver Function levels are super duper high.  At least I think they are super duper high... Definitely HIGH.  I can't stop shaking... I am anxious right now wading through his pages and pages of labs, trying to pinpoint when things started to go ary, so I know what I am talking about this week when we see Ped, Uro, Nephro and GI.  Dr Google has left me with more questions... there are hundred of things that could be going on... from Hepatitis from his blood infusions, to liver failure, to med toxicity (though we know this is not) to many others.

Uuuugggghhhh... the poor kid can not catch a break.  Though I have worried about him for a few weeks now - ever since he had the Flu in Oct and his labs were positive for metamyelocytes -common in cancer.  Then right before Christmas I screwed up his haircut, leaving him looking like a damn cancer kid.  He looked so little and fragile that I started checking weights and doubled his Pediasure intake.  I even re-contacted his Nutritionist last week to see if we could come back in for a re-eval.  (Turns out LGH got rid of her position, but she called me and said I can email her anytime).  

Hmmmm.....

Jackson is excited for our "Vacation" to Geisinger on Weds, and now it seems that it may not be so pleasant.  Poor little man!!!!!!
