 Northern Lights in Lititz

For the second time this year, the northern lights were visible right here! We missed it the first time though. We made sure we didn't miss it twice. At sunset, we drove north on 501 to get out to the middle of no where - little did we know that it wasn't even necessary.  

As the sun was setting, we turned around a bend and BAM - PINK skies all around!!!  Not the normal pink skies, obviously.  When you looked at the skies through your iPhone, it was even more magnificent and you could visual the lights almost dancing.

Five minutes later, Jason pulled off of the main road onto what he assumed was a small side road. Whoops... it was a 2 mile long windy Amish farm driveway!!  So, we got out and oogled at the sky from the middle of their farm. It was magnificent, though I do wish we got to see the lights actually dance.

And then a week later, we got to see a comet "zoom" by Earth. They say it will be 80,000 years until it zooms by again; Im glad we didn't miss it. It was MUCH brighter than I ever imagined it would be. It just looked like a bright start though. We didn't have binoculars to see the tail. The boys and I  took a ridiculous selfie with it.
