Family Seahawks Game

What an AMAZING time we had at the Seahawks vs The Washington Football Team Monday Night Football game on Monday, November 29, 2021. 

We headed out around noon, stopped for lunch, and arrived at our hotel in DC around 3:30. Our friends, Kelly and Shane Hench, we’re going too, so we followed each other down there. Our hotel was only 1.5 miles from the stadium. We booked an Uber for 5:30. 

Around 5:00, Jennibelle came running into our room, covered in blood. She and Jackson were wrestling on their bed, in their room, and she flew off into the TV cabinet. She really could have used staples, but we didn’t have time for that, so she quickly showered and we padded up her head to help it clot off. 

Our 2 Ubers dropped us off at different locations at the stadium. The boys were amazed by how big the stadium was from afar, while we waited for the girls.  Some worker on a golf cart, noticed me on my phone trying to figure out where my daughters were (they were with Kelly), so he offered to drive us to them. Thank God, because I could still barely walk from my tummy tuck! I can walk, but very slowly. Once we found them, he ended up telling them to just jump on the cart too! Then, he drove us around the stadium showing us the Seahawk’s busses and where all of the press was. Amazing! 

We waited in line for about 10 minutes for the gates to actually open. The boys were jumping all around. I was worried they might sink out by game time. Their smiles were so dang real! We made our way down to the field, only to realize the Seahawks were warming up on the opposite end. So we -slowly- walked around the entire stadium to get near our guys. It was amazing how many Seahawk fans were there. 

We never got to see a Russel Wilson. But… Jackson and Jimmy were impressed by DK Metcalf’s warm up moves. Jackson kept exclaiming “Oh my goodness!” Every time he caught one near us - for 10 minutes straight. Mind you, these were truly inspired exclamations! Then out of nowhere, Metcalf came over to Jack - 

AND GAVE HIM HIS RECEIVER GLOVES!!!!!! 

Jack was in shock, then turned to him to say “Thank you”, then about passed out, then teared up, then went back to shock. 

He tells me that he’s going to save these gloves until his first NFL game. They are size XXXL, so we’ll see. 

Shortly after, we got a call from my friend Kari- she just saw us on ESPN TV during the pregame show, because they played the clip where Jack received the gloves! And then the clip hit Twitter and Tick Tock! He went viral, lol.

Eventually, we got some burgers for dinner and made our way ALL THE WAY up to our seats, at the tip pity top. Before the game even started, the cold was setting in. It was only 27’ and there was no heat in the stadium anywhere. Luckily we brought the had warmers that heat up, so we put them in our shoes and drank hot drinks. 

The boys were into the entire game. Even though we didn’t play well- they could’ve cared less. And they knew exactly what was going on, during every second, though the players looked like ants. 















We decided after the game to just walk back to the hotel. I was so surprised at how well I kept up with everyone. The only time I struggled, was walking up the winding ramps to the 4th level. Only to find out later that there were escalators. We got back to our rooms around 12:30/1:00.

The kids stayed up in their room awhile and still made it down to breakfast by 9am (except for Jimmy who loves to sleep in). Jason And I got up around 10 and then we all headed out and started the trip home.
