Easter 2020

You’d think we’d be sick of being stuck at home- but not yet.
Easter was pretty nice-

We dyed 18 eggs on Thursday... just normal egg dye kits this year.

On Good Friday we watched church online.

On Saturday, Jason and I hid 6 plastic eggs for each kid around the yard. It was awesome!!  Each egg had a penny, a quarter, 4 quarters, a dollar, twenty-five cents or a “prize”.

The boys prize was a hint to where they’d find their new Darth Maul Light Sabers. The girls each got a $20 Target Online gift card.

The Hunt took about an hour and we hit the kids eggs according to their age. It was fun. One of  Jenni’s eggs was in place of a lightbulb. One of Jack’s was high in a tree. One of Jaylee’s was in a random cinderblock under a tree. Jimmy’s hardest was on top of the shed. Jenni has another in the middle of the trampoline... which was upside down because of tornado warnings the day before. Everyone had fun!!

I prepared the potato salad and pineapple sunshine cake on Saturday. Saturday night everyone went to bed without even remembering that it was Easter-eve!!!  Apparently Jennibelle woke at 1am because she remembered and woke Jaylee to remind her, LOL.

Sunday morning we slept in until 0730!!!  The Easter Bunny had come and hid everyone’s basket, but forgot to hide Daddy’s! Weird. It’s probably because Jason also had to wake me at 12:45 am to remind me it was Easter. I was barely awake!!

After streaming online church, Jaylee then made us an Easter breakfast casserole-
Scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon and tater tots.

The whole family helped me make the deviled eggs then- everyone peeled their own eggs. But, only after the girls hid them for the boys.

Then, it was time for Jimmy to learn how to ride a bike! I was shocked. This kid has had ZERO interest in bikes for almost 7 years. But he figured it out in one day:)

And then...
The dining proudly presents...

Our Dinner!!

I had asked everyone to dress up for dinner nicely, so we snapped a family photo before we sat to eat. Dinner was ok.  The ham thawed all day yesterday and cooked for 90 minutes. It smelled delicious, the first 3 slices were beautiful, and then the middle was still frozen!!  So... some of our fancy dinner ended up microwaved. The potato salad was very good. The Kraft MacNCheese was obviously a hit. The deviled eggs were awful. I was going to throw them in the garbage right after making them but Jack loved them (?) And insisted I keep them. He ate 2. For dessert we ate a pineapple sunshine cake with coconut in it- yummy!

Nan and Poppop drive by a few days ago to drop us off an Easter treat. Poor Jennibelle got SO excited because she thought they were dropping off Easter dinner!!  (Wouldn’t that have been AMAZING?!?) They we’re bringing me my favorite Chocolate covered pretzels and jelly beans:)

We ended the night with a 2 hour Kahoot! Game with the Stringhams in Seattle via Zoom, so we could see them all!!
At one point we all picked a version of Maria to be our screen name!
